Bart’s Better Foods are made on Whidbey Island with farm fresh food then frozen. Leave your blend in the refrigerator overnight or before work to thaw. You can also use the defrost option on your Microwave for a quick thaw (2 minute bursts on lowest defrost setting). Our ground blends works best when fully thawed.
Making Patties with Bart’s Better Foods plant ‘meat’ — what to expect:
Stove top instructions: Bring a pan to medium heat. Lightly oil. Prepare a patty from a 1/2 cup of mix (adjust size to preference). Use your hands to pack a patty together, or if you prefer scoop the blend directly into the pan and form with a spoon or spatula. Heat for 4-6 minutes on both sides, or until golden brown. Note: It may cook faster depending on your range.
Oven instructions: Pre-heat oven to 400˚ F. Prepare a patty from a 1/2 cup of mix (adjust size to preference) and press onto a baking sheet lightly brushed with your choice of vegetable oil. Bake for 6 minutes then flip and bake for 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
Our plant-based protein burger is a mild tasting patty with only a bit of salt and seasoning. We recommend adjusting to your flavor preferences by adding salt, pepper or other spices!
